An Arctic seascape where molten light meets frozen stillness. This piece explores the dramatic interplay between the warmth of a low sun breaking through cloud cover and the cold permanence of glacial ice. The composition centers on a towering iceberg catching the golden hour light, while the foreground water transforms into liquid flame—oranges and reds reflecting across dark volcanic rocks that anchor the scene.
The atmospheric lighting captures that fleeting moment when everything seems suspended between two opposing forces: the burning sky bleeding warmth into cold waters, the ancient ice standing against the temporary fire of sunset. Working region by region, I built the scene to emphasize natural light behavior—how it pools, reflects, refracts through ice, and transforms the mundane into the extraordinary.
The organic edge treatment allows the scene to dissolve into possibility rather than being contained by rigid borders, inviting the viewer into this liminal space where elemental opposites coexist.
