Here's a description that positions the work within your process and artistic approach:
First Light on Frozen Lake
Dawn breaks over a frozen Nordic lake, where mist softens the boundary between ice and sky. The piece explores the transient quality of natural light during those brief moments when warm sunrise tones meet winter's cool palette.
This work was developed through layered masking and iterative refinement in Krita, building the scene element by element—foreground tree, midground islands, atmospheric depth. Particular attention went to achieving convincing light diffusion through the tree line and maintaining proper atmospheric perspective across multiple depth planes. Post-processing focused on balancing the foreground detail against the overall misty cohesion.
Part of an ongoing exploration of atmospheric landscapes and the technical challenges of rendering natural light conditions in winter environments.
